2020 Year-End Review

2020 has been an unprecedented year for most of us.  Emerald Inc. was not immune to many of the negative impacts the COVID-19 on business and personal life.  With that said, we think it is important to look back at the end of each year to see what we were able to accomplish.  New Years resolutions are a popular way to try and lay a foundation for success in an upcoming new-year, and we plan to define our goals for 2021, but first we want to share some statistics from 2020 that indicate how well we performed in this year’s challenging environment.  An analysis of what went well and what didn’t work this year can be an enlightening and actionable way to prepare for next year!

In 2020 we were able to complete 1 or more projects per week by utilizing our small team in the most efficient way possible, dividing and conquering each project according to each team member’s strengths.

It’s hard to imagine how big 100,000 square feet is.  But here are some fun comparisons:  It’s about nine-tenths as big as a Manhattan city block, one-and-a-half times as big as the White House, one-and-three-fourths times as big as a football field. While most small retail shops we remodel are a couple thousand square feet, we’ve also done some much larger industrial, restaurant, and office remodel projects this year.

We are so happy that our team grew this year!  We brought on two experienced project managers who are construction management all-stars, Ron Stanley and Pete Goodman.

We didn’t use the challenges of 2020 as an excuse to cut any corners. We are proud to report zero construction site accidents.

Conclusion
